Whether you’re a child taking your very first lesson, an adult returning to the saddle, or someone discovering horses for the first time, our goal is to create an experience where both people and horses can thrive.
We know that learning to ride is about much more than mastering skills in the saddle. It is about building confidence, developing responsibility, strengthening character, and creating meaningful relationships with horses.
Our lesson horses are valued partners, each with their own personality, strengths, and needs. We carefully match riders with horses to create positive learning experiences while respecting the physical and emotional well-being of every horse. We believe that caring for horses is just as important as riding them.

Learning with Purpose Our instruction emphasizes quality over quantity. We intentionally keep our programs personal so instructors can truly know each rider, understand their goals, and provide thoughtful guidance that supports long-term growth.

It is a community where riders encourage one another, friendships are formed, and horses are respected as partners and teachers. We celebrate progress, support one another through challenges, and believe every rider deserves a place where they feel welcomed and valued.
Through our partnership with Red Heart Horse, our affiliated nonprofit organization, many of our lesson horses have the opportunity to transition into retirement, rehabilitation, or lifelong sanctuary when their teaching careers come to an end. This commitment reflects our belief that horses deserve compassionate care throughout every stage of their lives.
Meet the Founder Sunny Brook Stables was founded by Dr. Grania Holman with a vision of creating a place where exceptional horsemanship, compassionate horse care, and meaningful relationships come together.
Drawing on years of experience in education, leadership, and the equestrian world, Grania has built Sunny Brook around one simple belief: When horses are cared for with compassion and riders are taught with patience, both can flourish.
