Sprinkles was a dark bay miniature Shetland pony who spent her life bringing joy to children through pony rides, birthday parties, and grooming experiences.
Sprinkles was more than a beloved pony—she was one of the inspirations behind Red Heart Horse. Despite living with chronic laminitis, founder, hyperlipidemia, and the challenges of aging, she met each day with remarkable resilience and quiet grace. Her journey taught us that every horse deserves compassionate care, dignity, and love, regardless of age or medical needs.
Although she passed away shortly before Red Heart Horse officially became a nonprofit, her life helped shape the mission that exists today. Her legacy continues through every horse who receives care, dignity, and a meaningful next chapter.
Established in her honor, The Sprinkles Legacy Fund helps provide specialized care for senior, medically fragile, and special-needs horses at Red Heart Horse. Gifts to the fund support veterinary care, medications, therapeutic farrier services, specialized nutrition, and other essential needs that help our most vulnerable horses live comfortably and with dignity.
