At Sunny Brook Stables | Home of Red Heart Horse, we believe a child's relationship with a horse begins long before the first riding lesson. Little Hearts™ gives our youngest horse lovers the opportunity to experience horses in a safe, calm, and age-appropriate environment—learning to observe, approach, communicate with, and care for these incredible animals. This isn't a traditional riding lesson. It's the beginning of a relationship. What Your Little One Will ExperienceEach 45-minute Little Hearts experience may include: Meet a Horse or Pony Get to know one of our gentle equine partners and learn about their unique personality. Horse Safety & Respect Learn how to approach horses safely and respectfully with a parent or guardian. Grooming & Care Help with simple grooming and discover what horses need to feel comfortable and cared for. Little Hearts Horsemanship Explore basic horse communication, body language, grooming tools, feeding, and daily care. Follow Their Lead At this age, success might mean brushing a pony, touching a horse's neck, watching quietly from a safe distance—or simply feeling comfortable enough to come back again. Every child gets to participate at their own pace.
A Parent-Participating Experience
Little Hearts is designed for children ages 2–3 with a parent or guardian. Parents are an important part of the experience and participate alongside their child. Together, you'll learn how to safely interact with horses and create positive experiences that can grow with your child. Why Start So Young?You don't have to put a child on a horse to begin teaching horsemanship. Little Hearts helps children begin developing:

Respect for horses and their boundaries

Choose Your Little Hearts Experience Little Hearts™ Introductory Experience$95 | 45 minutes A wonderful first visit for families who want to introduce their child to horses. Includes a supervised, age-appropriate horse and horsemanship experience with parent/guardian participation. Best for: Families experiencing Little Hearts for the first time.
Little Hearts™ 3-Visit Series $250 | Three 45-minute experiences Repeated experiences allow young children to become familiar with the horses and build confidence over time. Best for: Families who want to make horses a regular part of their child's early learning.
Little Hearts™ 4-Visit Series $300 | Four 45-minute experiences A consistent introduction to horses, horsemanship, grooming, and care. Visits may be scheduled weekly or approximately twice monthly, depending on availability. Best for: Little horse lovers who are ready to keep coming back.
