Red Heart Horse is excited to announce the "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program. Available to existing Sunny Brook Stables Academy students and Adult Riding program students, this program is best suited for qualified students who do not elect to join the SBS Teams or participating shows, but who want to continue to ride while supporting their favorite Red Heart Horses. 

This program is by invitation only, and all qualified students must have completed adequate assessments and training through the Sunny Brook Stables Academy or Adult Riding programs before being considered. 

Students participating in the "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program will continue to be offered weekly lessons, but will no longer be eligible for the Skills and Assessment Clinics offered to Academy and Adult Riding programs. The only horses that will be used for riding in this program will be our Red Heart Horses. 

This program is a sponsorship for our Mane Supporters and is included in a $300 monthly donation, donated through our donation platform, Zeffy to support our special needs horses with Red Heart Horse 501c3. 

  • Weekly lessons, to be continued on students' current lesson schedule. Levels yellow shirt and up, 1 hour per week to include 30 minutes of tacking and grooming, 30 minutes of riding. 
  • Option to sponsor an individual Red Heart Horse of student's choice. Name will be displayed on site as a sponsor. A special "meet & greet" photo taken with horse. 
  • Option to be invited as priority sponsors in our Red Heart Horse events throughout the year.

FAQs

1) What is the primary purpose of the "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program? 
The "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program is a way to support Red Heart Horses through a riding program that is more geared toward the continued care of the Red Heart Horses and pleasure riding rather than focusing on the skills needed for participating in shows and joining the SBS Teams. 

2) Can I join the "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program if I want to remain in Academy? 
Some students who are in the Academy may be asked if they would like to also join the "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program in order to support the Red Heart Horses. These are two separate programs, so if a student would like to have one Academy lesson, and one "For the Love of the Horse" ride a week, they may do so upon invitation. Separate payments to both Sunny Brook Stables and Red Heart Horse will be required. 

3) Can anyone join the "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program? 
No. The "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program is by invitation only. Anyone who participates in this program needs to have previously taken lessons through Sunny Brook Stables Academy or Adult Riding Program, and completed assessments to verify proper training in the handling and care of the Red Heart Horses. 

4) What is the time commitment needed for "The Love of the Horse" Riding Program? 
Red Heart Horse kindly asks that you commit to quarterly participation in the program, with a one-month notice if you choose to leave the program and/or return to Academy. 

5) It says I can sponsor a horse. What does that mean? 
Simply put, you can choose to have your monthly donation benefit a specific horse. You will have your name displayed as a sponsor for that horse, and will get the opportunity to groom, spend time with, or ride your chosen horse when possible. You will also have the opportunity to have your photo taken with the horse and receive information about what makes them a Red Heart Horse. You will also be able to donate further to the cause and purchase merchandise with your sponsored horse's name and/or photo on the merchandise.  *Please note that because our horses have special needs, they may not always be available, but will still benefit greatly from your donation. 

6) What if I want to support a Red Heart Horse but cannot participate in a second lesson each week or do not qualify just yet for the "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program? 
No problem! You do not have to be involved in the "For the Love of the Horse" Riding Program to support our Red Heart Horses. You may choose to sponsor our Red Heart Horses through our sponsorship programs with Pony Pals, Stable Friends, and/or Hoofbeat Heroes.
