At Sunny Brook Stables, learning to ride begins with the horse. We are an English hunter and equitation riding academy where students develop not only technical riding skills, but also the knowledge, confidence, responsibility, and compassion to become true horsemen and horsewomen.
Our progressive Academy model combines mounted instruction with comprehensive horsemanship education, teaching riders how to ride, care for, understand, and advocate for horses. Through small lesson sizes and individualized instruction, riders progress at their own pace while building a strong foundation in balance, communication, partnership, and horse welfare.

As the Home of Red Heart Horse, our nonprofit dedicated to retirement, rehabilitation, rescue, and lifelong sanctuary, Sunny Brook offers students a unique opportunity to appreciate every chapter of a horse's life. Riders learn that horses are living partners—not equipment—and that kindness, stewardship, and respect are the foundation of exceptional horsemanship.

Home of Red Heart Horse
Sunny Brook Stables is proud to be the home of Red Heart Horse Retirement, Rehab & Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing meaningful next chapters through retirement, rehabilitation, rescue, hospice, and lifelong sanctuary. While Sunny Brook provides riding instruction and equestrian education, Red Heart Horse provides lifelong care and mission-driven stewardship education. Together, they create a community where riders learn not only how horses teach us, but also how we can care for horses throughout every stage of their lives.
Many of the Red Heart horses once carried lessons, taught beginners, and helped generations of riders discover the joy of horses. Today, they continue teaching in a different way—through their stories, resilience, and the lessons they inspire about compassion and responsible horse care.

Sunny Brook Stables and Red Heart Horse were founded on one simple belief: when horses are cared for with compassion and people are taught with patience, both can flourish.
Where It All Began Sunny Brook Stables began with a passion for teaching, horsemanship, and the incredible partnership between horses and people. From the beginning, our vision was to create more than a riding school. We wanted to build a welcoming community where children, teens, and adults could learn, grow in confidence, and develop a lifelong respect for horses.
Every rider's journey is unique, and every horse has a story. Those beliefs continue to guide every lesson, every program, and every relationship we build.
Growing Into Something More As Sunny Brook grew, so did our understanding that meaningful horsemanship extends far beyond riding. Our programs emphasize horse care, safety, stewardship, responsibility, and partnership. We believe riders become stronger when they learn not only how to ride, but also how to understand, care for, and advocate for the horses they love.
Why Red Heart Horse Was Born Over the years, we cared for aging lesson horses, horses with medical needs, and horses who simply needed a second chance. Those experiences inspired the creation of Red Heart Horse, our nonprofit organization dedicated to lifelong sanctuary, retirement, rehabilitation, hospice, and humane stewardship.
We believe that a horse's value does not end when its riding career does. Every horse deserves dignity, compassion, and lifelong care.
